Meet the TXINS Team — Marcie Ramm

marcie-ramm2Marcie Ramm is one of TXINS’ newest team members in Georgetown. Marcie is one of the most generous people we know. She has a heart of gold for her family, friends and clients. Her dedication and passion for giving back to the community is evident in her work with Relay for Life, the Lions Club, her church youth group, and the many other activities she is involved with. Marcie is able to make a personal connection with each of her clients. We are so fortunate to have her with us!

How long have you been with TXINS?

I’m fairly new to TXINS. I joined the Georgetown office on May 6, 2014.

What is your favorite thing about working for TXINS?

I purchased Howard a full day’s guide service on Lake Buchanan and we caught a boatload of striper fish.

I love that I can take care of my customers with a personal touch. I also love the comradery between the employees at TXINS. And I most love working with my co-worker, Kara Wood!

What do you do for fun?

My husband and I love to go to the beach in Destin, Florida and relax with a good book. I enjoy camping and fishing, spending time in the garden, exploring the area’s vineyards, and working around our ranch. Hanging out with my friends and family is so special to me.

Tell us about your family.

I’ve been married for 13 years to my wonderful husband, Howard. We have a chocolate lab named Becca, two cats named Dakota and Hamilton, two donkeys, 4 Barbados sheep, 3 goats, 3 Brangus cows and a Great Pyrenees named Duke. Whew…that’s a lot of animals isn’t it?

I’m the youngest of three girls. I have four nieces and nephews on my side and three on my husband’s side. We have a total of 9 great-nieces and great-nephews.

What are some your favorite things?

I’m a tried and true University of Texas Longhorn fan even though they have tried my nerves the past couple of years. My favorite food is shrimp. My favorite colors are green and of course burnt orange (Hook ’em Horns!).

If you could have any one superpower, what would you choose?

I would love to visit Heaven for a few days and tell those we have lost how much they are missed.

What is your favorite place to relax and unwind?

Definitely Destin, Florida at the Jetty East Condos.

View from our beach house at Destin. I can’t get enough of the ocean and how beautiful it is.

What’s your favorite movie quote?

I love when Scarlett says, “I’ll be fine as long as I have Tara.” in Gone with the Wind.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I think I would have made a great marine biologist, forest ranger or rancher because of my love of the outdoors and being a part of nature.

What’s one goal or dream that is still on your bucket list?

I want to learn how to scuba dive. So cool!

Our Relay for Life team was presented a check for $1,500 by the Florence Athletic Booster Club in April 2011. Those pictured are cancer survivors or my Relay team members. There was even a special appearance by Buffy, the Florence High School mascot!

Do you have any fun facts about yourself that you’d like to share?

I was a late bloomer and didn’t get married until I was 41. I spent most weekends as a child at one lake or another. My parents were huge bass fishing anglers. They knew Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston. I’ve chaired and co-chaired the Georgetown Relay for Life and have been a participant for 6 years. My goal is to help find a cure.

If you had 3 Wishes, what would you wish for?

1. That cancer did not exist.
2. That I was closer to retirement.
3. That I had a faster metabolism!
