How long have you been with TXINS?

The South Texas Whitetail buck I shot in 2011 while hunting on Santa Margarita Ranch, south of Cotulla.

I’m newly licensed and have only been working with TXINS for 6 months.

What is your favorite thing about working for TXINS?

I love the “family” feel of the entire organization. Everyone is interested in helping you learn and succeed. From the top of the company to the bottom, everyone wants you to do well.

What are some of your hobbies?

Almost all of my hobbies involve the outdoors. Hunting and fishing have always topped the list. I only hunt with a bow and arrow. I’ve been very lucky that I’ve managed to turn my love for the outdoors into a career by being an outdoor writer, hunting guide, and selling farm and ranch real estate for many years. Now I’m representing TXINS and selling commercial liability insurance for hunting outfitters.

Tell us about your family.

For my birthday, my son Cody treated us to a weekend in Matagorda. Fishing and crabbing with my boy was awesome!!!

I have an awesome 23-year old son named Cody. He lives near Houston and is a field mechanic for a large private construction company.

What are some of your favorite things?

I like pretty much any kind of meat…MAN FOOD! As difficult as it’s been for many years now, I’ve always been a Dallas Cowboy and Texas Ranger fan…some fools never learn.

If you could have any one superpower, what would you choose?

I would choose to be invisible. I’m not sure if I’d use it for good or evil, but I think it would be a lot of fun!!!

The New Mexico mule deer I shot near Charma, NM in September 2013. I was hunting with Fishtail Ranch Outfitters.

What did you want to be when you grew up and why?

Growing up, I always thought I wanted to be a professional fisherman, because it would be awesome! I decided against it because it requires way too much travel.

What is one goal or dream that is still on your bucket list?

I want to have a house where mule deer, elk, and bears live. Maybe near Chama, Mexico. I love the mountains.

Favorite place to relax and unwind?

It’s a toss up between the beach and the mountains.
