  1. How long have you been with TXINS?

I started in June 2008. It doesn’t seem like it has been over 7 years!

  1. What is your favorite thing about working for TXINS?

Working here isn’t just a job. We all care about each other. It’s more like a friend/family thing.

All four grandkids dressed up for their baptism. I love them so much!

  1. What are some of your hobbies?

I enjoy sewing, gardening, going to gigs with my husband Clint, and hanging out with my family.

  1. Tell us about your family.

I have been married to Clint for a LONG time…32 years! We have two daughters and four grandkids. We also have a Great Dane/hound dog mix named Shiner. He’s often referred to as my “son” and the “favorite child” by my girls.

My daughter Cassie, my two beautiful granddaughters, my sweet mom, and me. Four generations!

  1. What are some of your favorite things?

My favorite food is Mexican and luckily most of the Bohemians in my family cook it very well! I’m not into sports as much as I used to be but I do support the local Louise Hornets. Go Big Blue!

  1. lf you could have any superpower, what would you choose?

I wish I could turn back time. Kind of like a “if I only knew then what I know now” sort of thing.

My husband Clint is in several local bands that play all over South Texas. He plays lead guitar and sings. I’m definitely his #1 Roady!

  1. What did you want to be when you grew up and why?

A mommy. My family has always been very close and l wanted to carry on that tradition with kids of my own.

  1. What’s one dream that is still on your bucket list?

I would like to go to Austria and visit the house where my great-great-grandparents lived before coming to the U.S. They came through Ellis Island in the 1870’s when my great-grandfather was just a small boy. They eventually settled in Nada.

  1. Where’s your favorite place to relax and unwind?

Definitely in a nice, hot bubble bath with a good book.

  1. What’s your favorite family movie and movie quote?

Well, according to my grandkids, my favorite movie is “Frozen”. Each of them has tried to pull my eyelid up over my eyebrow, asking “do you want to build a snowman?”

My “son” Shiner. I adopted him from SPOT, a Wharton County rescue, in 2010. He’s part Great Dane so he takes up a lot of room!

  1. Tell us a funny story about you.

One morning when I was leaving for work (when I worked at the rice mill), I noticed a big jug of grape juice in the refrigerator. Clint had a gig the night before so he must have brought it home. That should have been a warning. But I took a big glass of juice with me. I drank some on the way to work and finished it off once I got there. WHOA!!! Things got really fuzzy and my coordination went out the window. I called Clint to see what the heck was in that juice. Turns out it wasn’t grape juice at all.  It was trash can punch! Grape juice and Everclear! Needless to say, I wasn’t very productive at work that day. 🙂

  1. lf you had 3 wishes, what would you wish for?

1. Peace and harmony (it’s the hippie in me)
2. More time with my family and friends
3. Take more time to relax and enjoy every moment!
